Family Friendly Places

Postby Tasmania4you » Sun Sep 21, 2008 1:05 am

Often as parents, when we decide to go out for the day we have to stop and think of places that are going to suit the needs of our children and also provide a family friendly atmosphere.

That's why we thought it would be great to start a thread where you can all list your family friendly places for all to enjoy. If you choose to list your favourite destination or two, please tell us where it is, why you like it so much and if possible, provide a link to the place.

We look forward to learning more about your Family Friendly Places.

One of our favourite Places to visit is the Cataract Gorge - Launceston

We love Cataract Gorge as it has a lot of different things to keep everyone of all ages and abilities busy.

It has the chairlift that takes you up to the top of the Gorge, it also has a variety of walking tracks that range from easy to difficult in nature.

The Gorge also has a lovely green grass area, with a small park, just great for the kids to play on or kick a ball around. There are toilet facilities and the Gorge is free to get into, however you will have to pay for parking and if you choose to go on the chairlift.

There is a swimming pool, which in the summer is a refreshing place to be. It has no fences around it guys, so requires your attention to detail when taking young children with you.

You can pack a picnic blanket and some lunch and enjoy the surroundings, or if you prefer buy yourself something to eat and drink at the cafe on site and enjoy the views from there.

What ever you choose to do we hope that if you visit the Cataract Gorge that you enjoy it as much as we do!
